Drawing inspiration from Paris' contrastingly uninspiring Paris summer weather, Dior's new collection of nail lacquer provides electrical summer touch to the season. The featured tones include Cosmo (pink), Calypso (red), Acapulco (yellow), and Lagoon (blue), and each shade partners up with a corresponding lip gloss: Orange Pareo, Red Cruise, Pink Bikini and Gold Sunrise. Model Julia Hafstrom's appearance in the ad is classic, effortless, and effective... The vibrant colors burst right out! We want candy...

You Say Tomato, We Say Gabbana

Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2012 Ready-to-Wear(And Dolce too, of course)

06.09.12

From paisley to floral, polka dots and stripes... Could vegetable prints be the next hot print trend? Dolce and Gabbana seemed to have hit the mark early on in their Spring 2011 exhibit, and the oddly fashionable trend seems to be spreading like wildfire within Hollywood's elite, ie Kristen Bell. It is a trend that must be taken into moderation, with wild bursts of peppers, tomatos, eggplants, and other tasty collages. With solid pieces, this print can really come alive, and possibly win over some of its skeptics. Will you take on this juicy trend this summer?

Chanel Resort 2013Let Them Eat Cake: Chanel Resort 2013

06.04.12

If Lagerfeld's latest collection executed his dream of the lethally self-indulgent Marie Antoinette's closet... Then we empathize with her completely.

The essence of the queen was resuscitated with the assistance of ruffles, petticoats, tiering, and a wealthy amount of royal blue. Modernity to the concept wardrobe was modest, with funky flatforms and contemporary textiles being amongst consistent elements in the mix. Washed-out pastels echoed from the garments and into the wigs, adding a bit of playfulness and youth to the scene. The modelesque struts around the fountains of Versailles seemed to illuminate depth into the lifestyle of a new age-Renaissance royal, with a bit of edge and rebellion.

Karl Lagerfeld's aesthetic continually seems to execute the timeless silhouette that is Chanel, and I'm sure Madam Marie would agree.

Underdog Millionaire: Freida Pinto shines at Cannes

06.03.12

With the Cannes Film Festival still crisp in the minds of all its elite speculators, so are the fashions. After all, fashion is arguably the most public aspect of the high-profile, yet private event. The 12-day long spectacle housed a host of elegance, style, and grace, with stars flocking from all corners of the world in their finest fits.

Amongst all the typically glamorous thespians, a noticeably surprising wild card was Freida Pinto. The Slumdog Millionaire and Rise of the Planet of the Apes actress proved herself to have the makings of a beckoning style icon, effortlessly strutting in stunning gowns by the likes of Versace and Ferragamo. High slits seemed to be a favorite of Pinto's, as well as illusion necklines and modestly shimmering detailing. An Indian beaut unafraid of color and embellishment, we hope she steps out on the scene more often.

Pinto again photographed in Atelier Versace, Ferragamo and Michael Angel ensembles.
